15 Passenger Van Strikes Pole, Sends 10 To The Hospital

Around 2:50 Thursday afternoon, a fifteen passenger van driving on Old Nyack Turnpike lost control and struck a utility pole.

Ramapo Police Department responded to the accident, and found seventeen passengers in the van, ten of which sustained injuries due to the accident.

The driver of the vehicle, a 28 year old Spring Valley man, was also driving with a suspended license, and was given only a summonses for Aggravated Unlicensed Operator.

The ten injured people were transported to local hospitals by Hatzoloh and Spring hill Volunteer ambulance.

The accident continues to be under investigation.
