20-Year-Old Spring Valley Resident Shot Dead During Facebook Marketplace Sale

The life of a 20-year-old Spring Valley man was snuffed out this past week as he was attempting to purchase a Kawasaki motorcycle found on the Facebook Marketplace.

The incident took place in the Bronx at East 144th and Exterior streets in Mott Haven Wednesday afternoon around 3:40pm, after Jefferson Jimenez Hernandez and three other men drove down to make the purchase of the bike. Something went wrong with the sale and Hernandez was shot.

EMS rushed Hernandez to Lincoln Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The NYPD is investigating the incident and no arrests have yet been announced.
