by CrownHeights.info
As the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas raged through the 6th day, Mosney.info presents an overview of the highlights from the last 24 hours.
Throughout Shabbos and into the night, Hamas continued to rain barrages of missiles on the central cities of Israel, including Ashdod and Tel-Aviv.
While most rockets either landed in open areas or were intercepted by the Iron Dome batteries, a direct impact on a home in Ramat Gan caused the death to one person. Most other injuries reported were from shock, or those who tripped while running for shelter.
Other impacts on homes included a 6:00am hit in Beersheba, where a building took a direct rocket impact resulting in no injuries. The family was all sleeping in their shelter room at the time.
Another impact took place in Ashdod, which caused no injuries but knocked out power for a period of time.
The Israeli Iron dome batteries worked overtime in the last 24 hours, with approximately 2300 rockets have been fired from the Gaza Strip at Israeli territory in total since the beginning of the conflict. Of those, approximately 380 failed launches fell in the Gaza Strip, and the Iron Dome has intercepted approximately 1000 rockets.
The Iron Dome has also intercepted multiple “Suicide Drones” as they attempted to fly into Israel, with the IDF reporting at least one such interception today.
A bombing attack from Lebanon was also thwarted overnight, with the suspects attempting to plant explosives in Metula.
The Israeli military was also not silent offensively, destroying multiple tall buildings in Gaza, including the Al Jala Tower which houses several media outlets in Gaza, including Al Jazeera and the Associated Press.
The IDF said it struck a bank branch in Rimal, Gaza, which they claimed was used to pay the salaries of Hamas members.
The home of Khalil al-Hayya, the Deputy Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, was also destroyed, along with other strategic targets. Israel has also moved on to attacking the “Defensive Tunnels” within Gaza,. according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
