You have been reporting, and the Ramapo Police Department has been listening.

The Town of Ramapo Police Department launched a campaign against traffic violations on Route 202 this week after a multitude of complaints concerning vehicle and traffic violations along the Route 202 corridor.

“Today we conducted a targeted traffic enforcement detail in the area,” the Ramapo Police Department wrote on social media. “Over 60 summonses were issued for violations including speeding, turning violations, and distracted driving.”

“I have driven this road for 20 plus years for work and the amount a idiots and unsafe drivers in this road is insane,” commented Alycia Rodrigue. “Passing me on a double yellow when I’m doing the speed limit, making that turn onto Spookrock even with the giant no turn signs. Excessive speeding, It’s insane.”

The Route 202 corridor is hardly a safe place to break traffic law, with multiple serious crashes taking place each year.
