Village of Airmont Declares State of Emergency

A State of Emergency has been declared in the Village of Airmont, effective at 9:00 AM on Friday, June 25, 2021.

The State of Emergency was declared due to the continuation of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, which, according to the town, “remains a pandemic public health emergency of international concern and threatens the health and welfare of the residents of the Village of Airmont.”

The state of emergency for the village comes after Governor Cuomo announced that the States State of Emergency was coming to an end, ending all pandemic restrictions in place over the last year.

The Village State of Emergency will remain in effect until rescinded by a subsequent order.

As per the order, all departments and agencies of the Village of Airmont are to take whatever steps necessary to protect life and property, public infrastructure, and provide such emergency assistance as deemed necessary.

For the duration of this State of Emergency, Airmont Village Hall will remain open to the public, but all meetings of the boards and departments of the Village, including the Village Board of Trustees, Village Planning Board, and Village Zoning Board of Appeals, will continue to be held by videoconferencing technology, in accordance with all requirements of the law.
