An arrest has been made in the BB gun vandalism that left multiple windows broken in Airmont this past Friday.

The Ramapo Police Department announced the arrest of a 22-year-old male from Suffern, NY, charging him with 2 counts of Criminal Mischief in the 2nd degree, a D felony, 18 counts of Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree, an E felony, and Reckless Endangerment.

During the investigation, it was determined that approximately 20 vehicles were damaged and that 2 storefront windows had also been shot out by the alleged BB gun shooter. The shooter had driven around in a red pickup truck, stopping to target the stores and vehicles seemingly at random.

The man was arrested, arraigned, and released on his own recognizance, and is due to appear in the Villages of Airmont and Chestnut Ridge Justice Courts as well as the Town of Ramapo Justice Court at later dates this month.
