Arrest Made In Last Weeks Robbery at Rita’s

An arrest has been made in the robbery investigation of the Rita’s location in Airmont last week.

On December 5th, the Ramapo Police Department investigated an armed robbery at the Rita’s located in the Village of Airmont.

In that robbery, the suspect entered the store and threatened the use of a firearm through his sweatshirt. The employee handed over an amount of currency and the suspect fled the location.

RPD detectives were called to the scene and commenced an investigation. Through the use of established and effective investigative techniques, a suspect was quickly developed. The Investigations Division continued their pursuit of further evidence and arrested the suspect on December 13, 2021.

The 63-year-old male was arraigned today in the Village of Airmont and remanded to the Rockland County Jail pending future court appearances.

RPD was assisted in the investigation by the Rockland County Intelligence Unit, Rockland County Crime Analysis Center, the Clarkstown Police Department and Rockland County Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
