As COVID Surges, Rockland Hospitals Limit Visitation

by Monsey.info

As the numbers of COVID cases continues to climb, local hospitals across the state are clamping down on visitors in an attempt to alleviate some of the strain on hospital staff.

One of those hospitals was Montefiore Nyack Hospital, which as of December 30th will no longer allow visitors with some exceptions.

“As of Thursday, December 30, there will be no visitors allowed at Montefiore Nyack Hospital due to the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in our area,” the hospital published on Facebook.

Exceptions to the rule were made for end-of-life patients, pediatrics, labor and delivery, and patients with cognitive or developmental impairments.

Any visitor permitted by the care team must be over the age of 12 according to the new rule.

“While we understand visitation is an important element of patient healing, we must do our best to protect the health and safety of our patients and staff,” they wrote.

To help keep the patients in contact with their family or loved ones, the hospital is offering a virtual option. Simply fill out the request form to FaceTime or Zoom in the link below.https://www.montefiorenyack.org/request-patient…
