
BDE: Bochur Dies After Falling From Cliff In Israel
21-year-old Yerachmiel Yeshaya Brecher OBM from Jerusalem was identified as the hiker who was killed on Monday as a result of a fall during a trip in the Judean Desert.
Israeli police and the Megilot Rescue Unit, assisted by a helicopter, locating him after several hours of searching.
Three other hikers who were lightly injured were rescued using ropes and stretchers and received medical treatment at the scene.
Yeshaya is believed to have fallen from a height of about 30 meters (100 feet) in the Samar River. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His parents are Reb Dovid and Chanah Brecher (Vishnitzer Chassidim). He was an Alexander Chosid, and had recently learned in Mir Yerushalayim.
The Levaya will be held tonight just after midnight.
