Blatant Corruption Exposed In Clarkstown, As Town Conspired To Stop Jewish School
by Monsey.info
A lawsuit filed by Ateres Bais Yaakov Academy of Rockland alleges corruption on the part of Clarkstown after damning documents show a coordinated effort to shut down the sale of a School to Ateres Bais Yaakov .
The sale was supposed to take place between Grace Baptist Church, which had a functioning school on the premises, and Ateres Bais Yaakov, but was denied by the town.
The lawsuit alleges that the town Supervisor George Hoehmann orchestrated the plan to stop the sale through ignoring documents and changing zoning laws after the fact.
A Freedom of information act request provided the documents that were ignored, and the rest fell into place.
Hoehmann had originally denied the sale over claims that the present school on location was not there, and despite documents that later proved the lie, claimed that no fire inspections had taken place in over 20 years.
Then, Hoehmann misapplied zoning laws in further attempts to stymie the sale, and after failing to gain traction, attempted to amend the zoning laws to fit his narrative. It failed.
The actions of the supervisor come in context with a statement made at one of the many meetings set up to orchestrate the corruption, at which the sale was deemed a “hostile takeover.”
The church and it’s premises were later purchased by the town of Clarkstown.
As the lawsuit has only recently been filed, it remains to be seen how far this will progress, and how long it might take.
