Boat Found Sitting on Ramapo Road, No Owner to be Found

Ramapo police were called for a boat sitting on West Eckerson Road Thursday evening. The boat appeared to have fallen off a trailer, and its owner was nowhere to be found.

In a scene for the history books, a 911 caller reported a boat sitting on the side of a road in Ramapo, with no owner in sight.

Ramapo police responded to West Eckerson Road around 9:00pm Thursday evening, and found the boat as described, just sitting there.

The boat appeared to have been being towed, when by the look of the skid marks on the street, it fell off, coming to rest at the side of the road.

The Ramapo Police Department posted the incident on their Facebook page, writing “If you were trailering a boat in the area last night and arrived at your destination with no boat on the trailer, kindly contact RPD!”

A search for the owner came up empty.
