
Updated: Man Shot in Hillcrest, Police Searching for Two Suspects

A man was shot outside his home Motzei Shabbos in the Hillcrest section of Rockland.
The shooting occurred on Dwights Ave near New Square.
Two males dressed in all black fled on foot from the scene armed with a hand gun.
The victim was found to be in cardiac arrest, and CPR was initiated. Hatzalah was not called for the incident.
An active search is in progress for two black males. Police officers from Ramapo, Clarkstown, Spring Valley, Suffern, State Police, and Orangetown have all joined the search.
A chopper and drone are being used as well.
Update from Ramapo PD: Last night 12/7 at about 9pm RPD responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of Dwight Ave and Mallory Rd, in Hillcrest.
Arriving officers located a 19 year old male lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound.
Rockland Paramedics and Springhill Ambulance Corps initially transported the victim to Nyack Hospital. He has since been transferred to Westchester Medical Center and is in critical condition. The victim is from Nanuet.
Ramapo Police received assistance from numerous police agencies including; Clarkstown Police, Orangetown Police, Rockland County Sheriff’s Dept., New York State Police, Spring Valley Police, Suffern Police, and Westchester County Aviation.
Currently, RPD is unable to release any further information due to ongoing investigative efforts.
At this time, RPD has no reason to believe that there is any danger to the neighborhood related to this incident.
