Chanukah Machete Attack Suspect To Remain in Psychiatric Facility for Two More Years
The Orange County man who faces federal and state charges after a machete attack in Rockland County will remain in a psychiatric facility for two more years.
Grafton Thomas is accused of attacking five men during a Hanukkah party at a Monsey home in 2019, resulting in one of the men dying several months later.
This week, a federal judge granted an application to extend Thomas’s treatment at the MidHudson Psychiatric Center until January 2026. The 41-year-old faces a 10-count federal indictment accusing him of hate crimes in the case, as well as murder and attempted murder charges in Rockland County.
