Chaverim of Rockland Hosts Annual Appreciation Dinner

Chaverim of Rockland held their annual appreciation dinner this Sunday, giving Chaverim, local officials, and local law enforcement the chance to show their appreciation to the organization’s volunteers.

Chaverim’s 175 strong volunteer membership stepped up this past year, covering nearly 35,000 calls for help from Rockland County residents.

The event saw a lineup of local politicians, including NY State Assemblyman Mike Lawler, Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht, and Rockland Legislator Aron Wieder.

Law enforcement was also heavily represented, with notable individuals such as Sheriff Louis Falco and Ramapo Chief Martin Reilly. The Chiefs and other ranking officials from the Spring Valley and Ramapo Police Departments were also present.

The attendees heard divrei Chizuk and Hisorirus from Rabbi David Farkas, Chabad Rabbi of Olympia, and Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Twerski, Rav of Beis Medrash Torei Zahav in Wesley Hills.

Annual awards were also given out at the event, including the Top Runners of 2020 and 2021.

The Ramapo Police Department noted their appreication for the Chaverim volunteers, saying that the “RPD values this partnership and appreciates the services provided by Chaverim’s 175 members to the citizens of the Town of Ramapo.”
