Clarkstown Police Bust Burglar Team Mid-Heist, One Arrested, Others Escape

On Sunday, August 7th, 2022 at approximately 4:00am, the Clarkstown Police Department responded to 31 Murray Hill Dr. in Nanuet, for a burglary in progress.

The first arriving officers observed a dark colored sedan in the parking lot with its lights on. The officers removed the sole occupant of the vehicle, driver, and detained him in a patrol car.

The caller was a security guard who stated he saw several people burglarizing the building, he was still inside the UPS warehouse as officers arrived.

In the early stage of the investigation information was obtained that this burglary crew has been known to carry firearms and had violent encounters with Law Enforcement in the past. With this information known, the Clarkstown Police Department CIRT (Critical Incident Response) team was called to safely extricate the security guard who had barricaded himself inside the warehouse, and after which searched the interior of the building for other suspects.

The security guard was removed unharmed and the building was cleared without further incident. All other suspects had absconded prior to our officers arriving. Items stolen include handbags, shoes and electronics. At no time was the public in any danger during this investigation.

Amadou Fall, M/19, from Philadelphia, PA was transported into Clarkstown Police HQ. Mr. Fall has been charged with the following offense: Burglary 3rd (felony). Mr. Fall was arraigned on August 7, 2022 in Clarkstown Justice Court where he was released without bail and ordered to return to court on August 10, 2022.

It should be noted that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
