Compliance Tested At Ramapo Liquor Stores
Wednesday evening, the Ramapo Police Department, in conjunction with the Rockland County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children (S.P.C.C.), conducted an alcohol sale compliance check of businesses located in the Town of Ramapo.
An undercover agent who is less than 21 years of age, the legal drinking age, attempted to purchase alcohol from businesses without providing identification.
The following businesses were found to be in compliance and should be commended for their diligence:
Super Stop & Shop- 1581 Rt 202, Pomona, NY
J Evans Liquors- 1621 Rt 202, Pomona, NY
7-Eleven- 294 N Main St, Hillcrest, NY
Key Foods- 289 N Main St, Hillcrest, NY
Amoco Gas Station- 267 N. Main St, Hillcrest, NY
Goldpath Wine and Spirits- 45 Rt 59, Monsey NY
Citgo Gas Station-74 Rt 59, Monsey NY
7-Eleven- 14 College Rd, Monsey NY
Wine on 59 – 421 Rt 59, Monsey, NY
The following businesses were not in compliance and sold alcohol to an underage person:
Cresthill Wine and Liquor- 285 N Main St, Hillcrest, NY, NY. An employee of the store, age 59, was charged with Prohibited Sale of Alcohol to a Minor, an ABC Law violation. This employee was released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance in the Town of Ramapo Justice Court
Guzzels- 362 N Main St, Hillcrest, NY. An employee of the store, age 63, was charged with the same violation. This employee was also released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance in the Town of Ramapo Justice Court.
Liquorland – 250 Rt 59, Airmont NY. An employee of the store, age 23, was charged with the same violation. The employee was also released pending a future court appearance in the Village of Airmont Justice Court
