Containment Zone Set Up In New Rochelle

Governor Andrew Cuomo took another step to stem the spread of the Coronavirus in new Rochelle by establishing a containment zone around the local Young Israel.
The Governor said that “We are implementing new emergency measures in New Rochelle, which has the biggest cluster of Coronavirus cases in the state.”
The new measures, starting on Thursday, would restrict gatherings for two weeks within the containment zone. The zone spans one mile, in the area hardest hit in the city

These new emergency measures come at the recommendation of Health Commissioner Dr. Zucker.

The State will work with impacted schools to ensure any child who currently depends on food assistance programs will continue to receive those benefits during this 2-week period.
