Crash In Chestnut Ridge Downs Utility Pole, Cuts Power

A motor vehicle crash in front of 221 N. Highland Ave in Chestnut Ridge left a utility Pole down and power out in the surrounding area Tuesday morning.

The vehicle had struck the utility pole, causing the entire pole to snap, and wires and transformer to come down.

The Ramapo Police Department and South Spring Valley Fire Department responded to the crash, along with Excelsior Fire Engine Company No. 1 of the Pearl River Fire Department.

Thankfully, the driver of the vehicle was not injured in the crash.

Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. arrived on scene to make the necessary repairs.
