Drone Fears Come To Rockland, Ramapo Police Are Aware

The Ramapo Police Department has notified the community that it is aware of recent reports regarding drone activity in and around Rockland County, and the concerns of the community are understood.
“We are actively working with local, county, and state law enforcement agencies, including the New York State Police through our detective assigned to Rockland Intel,” the Ramapo Police wrote. “At this time, there is no known threat to public safety. We take all reports of drone sightings seriously and respond accordingly, documenting the activity and coordinating with our law enforcement partners.”
The Drone fever started after New Jersey saw a spike in unidentified drones over multiple cities, with public figures sparking theories of foreign involvement.
“We understand that these drone sightings may be unsettling and are taking these reports seriously,” 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲. “In addition to notifying federal authorities, I am writing a letter to President Joe Biden urging him to have the Federal Aviation administration (FAA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) investigate and provide answers as to who is behind these drone sightings.”
According to the Ramapo Police Department, the drone activity appears to have initially been reported across the state border in New Jersey.
