Evergreen Buys The Hive Supermarket In $11 Million Deal: Report

While details are still emerging regarding the surprise closure and sale of The Hive Supermarket in Monsey, it appears that a deal was reached to have Evergreen take over, for a hefty price.

Reports indicate that the deal closed with Evergreen, the fast growing kosher supermarket chain, for a whopping $11 Million, with plans by Evergreen to launch a Costco-like store that would be competition to Bingo Wholesale.

The Hive had opened just a year ago to much fanfare, but has been struggling financially from the its early days. Monetary issues led to their assets being seized by a bank whim eventually closed the deal with Evergreen to make the takeover.
