Ezras Nashim Receives Permission From State To Operate An Ambulance
by Monsey.info
After a long fight, Ezras Nashim, the all female ambulance corp based in Boro Park, has received permission to operate in ambulance in Brooklyn.
The vote took place at Thursday’s SEMSCO meeting, where 23 voted YES, 2 voted NO, and 1 abstained to overturn a denial of a Certificate of Need by the city’s REMSCO board.
The overturn was based on the states opinion that “A need exists in the Boro Park area.”
Ezras Nashim had previously been denied a certificate of need in a tense meeting, and took their fight to the state.
While the vote has passed to grant them approval, it remains to be seen if will be a legal challenge to the decision, and if their ability to operate will be constrained to just Boro Park.
