Fatal Friday Night Crash Leaves One Dead in Rockland County
On Friday, September 24th, at approximately 11:45pm, officers from the Clarkstown Police Department responded to the area of Lake Rd and Rt 9W in Congers, for reports of a one vehicle accident with injuries.
Responding officers arriving on scene discovered an overturned vehicle that had struck a utility pole. The vehicle had been occupied by two adult males, who were both ejected in the crash.
The driver of the vehicle, a 35 year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Rockland Paramedics. The passenger, 41 year old male, was treated on scene by Rockland Paramedics and Congers-Valley Cottage Ambulance Corp and he was transported to Westchester Medical Center due to the severity of his injuries.
At the time of the report released by the Clarkstown Police Department, the next of kin had not yet been notified.
“We are saddened to have to report on yet another fatal accident here in Clarkstown, our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of the deceased,” the Clarkstown Police Department wrote.
The Clarkstown Police Accident Investigation Team is conducting the investigation, the cause of the accident has yet to be definitively determined.
