Five Arrested In Connection With New City Shooting (UPDATED)

On Saturday, January 29, 2022 at approximately 1:45 pm officers from the Clarkstown Police Department responded to reports of multiple gunshots being fired outside of 3 Turnberry Ct in New City. Officers arrived on scene and observed a Black Mercedes fleeing at a high rate of speed, a brief track ensued that resulted in the Mercedes striking a utility pole causing it to become disabled. All 5 suspects (occupants) exited the vehicle and attempted to flee, scattering on foot. Officers from the Clarkstown Police Dept. were assisted by the deputies from the R.C. Sheriff’s Dept. in apprehending all 5 suspects and recovering 4 handguns within minutes of the initial 911 call.

The suspects consist of 4 adult males and 1 juvenile, are all Brooklyn residents and are currently at the Clarkstown Police Department awaiting arraignment. The charges are pending at this time and will be disclosed at the conclusion of their arraignment.

The Clarkstown Police Department Detective bureau continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Update: The following individuals have been arrested and charged in regard to the shooting:

Armani Miller, 24/M, from Brooklyn, has been charged with Attempted Murder – Depraved Indifference 2 (felony), Criminal possession of weapon 2 (felony), Criminal use of a firearm 2 (felony), Reckless endangerment 1 (felony) and numerous NYS VTL infractions.

Ivor Minott, 19/M, from Brooklyn, has been charged with Attempted Murder – Depraved Indifference 2 (felony), Criminal possession of weapon 2 (felony), Criminal use of a firearm 2 (felony) and Reckless endangerment 1 (felony).

Garron White, 18/M, from Brooklyn, has been charged with Attempted Murder – Depraved Indifference 2 (felony), Criminal possession of weapon 2 (felony), Criminal use of a firearm 2 (felony), Burglary 2 (felony), Reckless endangerment 1 (felony) and Obstruction of governamental administration 2 (misdemeanor).

Daquan Young, 18/M, from Brooklyn, has been charged with Attempted Murder – Depraved Indifference 2 (felony), Criminal possession of weapon 2 (felony), Criminal use of a firearm 2 (felony)and Reckless endangerment 1 (felony).

All four of the above listed suspects were arraigned in Town of Clarkstown Justice Court, where they were remanded to the RC Jail in lieu of $150,000.00 cash or $250,000.00 fully secured bond.

A fifth suspect, a juvenile, has also been charged in regard to this incident and was arraigned in Town of Haverstraw Justice Court.
