Flood Watch in Effect, An Update From Supervisor Specht
As of 8:28am, the following weather update was released from Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht. Monsey.info will continue providing updates as information becomes available.
The first round of storms and heavy rain has shifted eastward this morning. Relatively dry conditions extend upwind of Ramapo for the moment, but additional rain and storms are starting to fill in over eastern PA/northern NJ.
There will be an 80% chance for rain and storms through the morning hours and afternoon. Some of these storms may be strong to severe, capable of producing strong gusts or possibly even a brief tornado spin-up.
Rain from now through early evening will be on the order of 0.50″, with locally heavier amounts likely in thunderstorms. We should be largely dry as we move into the early evening around 5-6pm, then dry overnight and early Monday morning.
