Forshay Stabber Still Considered Unfit to Stand Trial
The mentally ill man accused of a vicious machete attack on Jewish worshipers celebrating Chanukah in Rockland County is still not fit to stand trial after five months of psychiatric treatment.
Prosecutors said in a letter filed Tuesday in Manhattan Federal Court that they agree with defense attorneys and federal Bureau of Prisons psychiatrists that Grafton Thomas does not understand the charges against him for the hacking spree in Monsey last Dec. 28 that killed one worshiper and injured four others.
Prosecutors asked a judge to order Thomas receive further treatment for roughly four months.
