The arrest of four Rockland teens has been announced in the investigation into a series of attacks on Jewish people in Rockland.

“RPD arrested four people for a hate crime that occurred this past weekend in Monsey after reports of pedestrians being struck with projectiles from a passing vehicle,” the Ramapo Police wrote on their social media.

The news was broken at a press conference held Wednesday afternoon where they announced the arrests of a 19 year old from Valley Cottage, a 19 year old from Tomkins Cove, and two suspects who are eligible for youthful offender status.

The four face charges of Attempted Assault (Felony) as a hate crime, Reckless Endangerment as a hate crime, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Conspiracy, Aggravated Harassment and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

One defendant was sent to the Rockland County Jail, two were released on bail, and the other was released to their parent pending a Family Court Youth Division appearance.

District Attorney Tom Walsh joined Ramapo Police Chief Martin Reilly, detectives from the Ramapo PD, and elected officials for the press conference to announce the arrests and charges they face. He thanked the Ramapo PD detectives for their work on identifying and detaining the suspects and spoke about how the diversity of Rockland County is one of our greatest strengths.

RPD was assisted by the Rockland County Intelligence Center.
