A party of three Frum candidates running under the banner of Pomona United won a landslide victory Tuesday to take the Mayorship and two trustee slots in the Village of Pomona, NY.
Mayor elect Ilan Fuchs, a Lubavitcher Chasid, took to social media Tuesday night to thank the voters, saying “We are pledging, myself, Joel Grunwald, Raanan Zidile, to continue serving you, improving services, and improving communication.”
The two new Trustees, Joel Grunwald and Raanan Zidile, are well known figures in the local Jewish community, with Zidile volunteering as a Paramedic in Hatzoloh of Rockland County. They will be joining the Village’s Board of Trustees, taking a seat previously held by Fuchs and sitting along with other Trustees Lubavitcher Mendy Lasker and Moshe Greenberg. Each Trustee sits for a four years term.
Located in Rockland County, Pomona boasts a large Jewish presence which has grown exponentially over the last few years.
