Fundraiser For Family of Fallen Firefighter Launched
by Monsey.info
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help the family of fallen firefighter Jared Lloyd, who perished in the inferno that destroyed the Adult Assisted Living Facility in Spring Valley yesterday.
The fundraiser, organized by Andrew Lerer, notes the volunteer firefighters 15 year history with the Spring Valley Columbian Engine Company, and notes that he had rescued multiple residents at the fire before he tragically fell.
Lloyd had been on the third floor of the building when he went missing, and was discovered late Tuesday night by search and rescue.
As well as being a dedicated firefighter, Jared was a dedicated father to his two sons. All funds raised will be given directly to the family, according to the GoFundMe page, with the money used for his sons’ futures.
Within hours of the fundraisers launch, over $100,000 had been donated from over 1,500 donors, with many of the donations coming from Jewish residents.
