Governor Cuomo Announces That Schools in All Districts May Open

by Monsey.info

“Good news. All schools can reopen,” Cuomo said Friday during a press conference.

Since the state is presently hovering at a 1% positive test rate for COVID-19, well below the 5% threshold recommended by the World Health Organization for general reopening and adopted by New York State, schools may reopen with in person classes with strict guidelines.

While the state made the decision to allow them, each school district may make their own decision of the extent of their reopening. They must also submit their reopening plans that require approval from the state Health Department.
