INSANITY: Police Identify Friday Night Attacker, Release Him Under Bail Reform Law
by Monsey.info
In an insane twist of events, the Spring Valley Police Department identified the attacker of a Jewish family this past Friday night, and then immediately released him.
According to a press release by the Sprig Valley Police Department, 49-year-old Donald Lane was the man who approached the Jewish family out for a walk and punched the father in the face.
As previously reported on Monsey.info, the heimishe couple had walking with their children down West Street in Spring Valley at approximately 9:30pm. Surveillance video showed as the attacker begins to tangle with the father as the rest of the family runs away. The video also shows lane as he flees the scene after the father fought back.
The police had initially been unable to find who had perpetrated the assault, but on Sunday they announced an arrest.
Facing charges of assault in the 3rd Degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Lane was astoundingly “released on is own recognizance” pending a court date on March 29th.
Despite the arrest, the Spring Valley Police Department continued to urge any witnesses to come forward, asking them to contact the department at 845-356-7400.
