Jersey City Mayor, Steven Fulop, announced Tuesday evening that the attack on a Kosher Supermarket Tuesday afternoon was targeted by the attackers. The revelation comes according to an initial investigation of the incident.

The attack plan, which the scope of which will never fully be known, was planned to be large by the amount of ammunition and bombs found in the attackers vehicle.

The attackers plan went south when a police officer pulled the Uhaul van they were driving over near a local cemetery, since it was flagged as stolen.

The attackers shot the officer, killing him and prompting a police chase.

The police cornered the occupants of the van, but not before they ran into 223 Martin Luther King Drive, the location of a Kosher Supermarket. The store sits adjacent to a synagogue and directly below and across from two school.

The attackers murdered three people in the store, while another managed to escape after being shot.

A prolonged shootout ended with both attackers killed, and at least three innocent dead.

The names of two of the victims were released by the authorities.

BDE: HaBucher Moshe Hersh B”R Shulem Deutch, 24 years old,

BDE: Mrs Leah Mindel Ferentz, 33 years old.

Jesey City Mayor Steven Fulop tweeted the following. “Based on our initial investigation (which is ongoing) we now believe the active shooters targeted the location they attacked. Due to an excess of caution the community may see additional police resources in the days/weeks ahead. We have no indication there are any further threats.”
