Jewish Congressman Lee Zeldin To Run for Governor of New York

As the race for Governor of New York heats up, a new contender has entered the ring. Jewish Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin made the announcement of his run for the office of Governor this week.

“The bottom line is this: To save New York, Andrew Cuomo’s gotta go,” Zeldin wrote in a press release.

Zeldin is an American attorney, member of Congress, and officer in the United States Army Reserve. A Republican, he has represented New York’s 1st congressional district in the United States House of Representatives since 2015.

Zeldin faces a growing line of contenders, including the son of former Mayor of New York City Rudy Guliani.

As a vocal pro-Trump advocate from Long Island, Zeldin faces challenges in the majority Democratic state. It should be noted that he won his present seat over another Jewish, but Democratic candidate.
