Jewish Victim Of Friday Fire Identified as Gershon Tarshish OBM

A fire on Stonehurst Ct Friday morning took the life of a man whose identity has just been released as Gershon Tarshish, a Jewish person living alone.

Emergency services rushed to a home on Stonehurst Court Friday morning around 9:30am after reports indicated a fire in a home.

Seven fire departments from across Rockland County battled the blaze, of which the sourse has not been released.

After much searching for living relatives, the man was identified as Gershon Tarchish by Chesed Shel Emes, who is taking responsibility to bring the niftarto Kevurah.

The Levaya took place at noon today.
