Massive Security-Camera Breach Affects Tesla, Hospitals, Police Stations and Prisons

Hackers claim to have gained access to 150,000 live security-camera feeds — including those of Tesla, hospitals, prisons and even Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., a report said Tuesday.

One of the online rogues told Bloomberg that they launched the cyber assault against Verkada Inc. — a Silicon Valley start-up which sells web-operated security-camera systems — on Monday morning to show “just how broadly we’re being surveilled and how little care is put into at least securing the platforms used to do so.”

“It’s just wild how I can just see the things we always knew are happening, but we never got to see,” Tillie Kottmann, part of the international group of online infiltrators, told the outlet.
