More Bodies Found, Another Identified In Surfside Tragedy

According to the head of the Israeli Defense Forces team working feverishly to locate more people in the tragic Surfside Collapse, more bodies were discovered overnight, and are in the process of identification.

“At the last 12 hours we found some more people,” Col. Golan Vach, commander of the Israeli National Rescue Unit, told CNN’s John Berman on “New Day.” “We found people. Unfortunately, they are not alive.”

Those found were transferred for identification, and their identities can be expected within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Miami-Dade police released the name of the woman found yesterday, identifying her as Hilda Noriega, aged 92.

The official death toll in the disaster stood at 12 on Wednesday, with 149 people unaccounted for.

Update: The number of bodies found overnight has been announced as four.
