by Monsey.info

No less than four cars were stolen in New Hempstead Sunday night in a series of professional heists that have people worried.

According to sources familiar with the incidents, the professional thieves disconnect the tracking devices and change the VIN numbers of the cars they steal. They then ship the stolen cars overseas through Newark NJ, all in less than two hours.

“Make sure to lock your cars and take the keys out of the car,” Chaverim advised, highlighting the fact that these thefts are now commonplace.

A recent incident in Montreal took place in daylight, where a team of thieves grabbed a car and made it “disappear”. The vehicle was discovered along with two others jammed into a shipping container and packed around with old mattresses.

The discovery, made just in time, happed due to the cooperation of the car company, which was able to pinpoint the GPS location of the vehicle.
