Officers Honored for Response to Chanukah Stabbing Attack
Two police officers were honored at an award ceremony held in Rockland County on Tuesday for their handling of the arrest of the Monsey stabber.
NYPD officers David Radziwon and Russell Mattera received six awards from various agencies, including the Rockland County Legislature and the Town of Ramapo, honoring them for their role in apprehending Grafton Thomas in Harlem, after he had fled the scene of the stabbing.
Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht and Ramapo Police Chief Brad Weidel presented Officers Mattera and Radziwon with the Meritorious Service 2nd Award, which is presented to officers who perform an act in the line of duty, demonstrating initiative or dedication bringing public or professional acclaim to themselves and/or their organization.
