On Average, You are Paying Twenty Two Cents More at the Pump in New York Than Other States

The price at the pump just keeps going up.

A recent release by AAA shows that New Yorkers are paying on average $3.75 a gallon, twenty two cents higher than the national average of $3.53.

Another increase of even cents on average for New Yorkers is what landed the price towards $4.00 a gallon.

Comparisons to last year show a staggering difference, with the averages $2.63 and $2.69, respectively. The difference here is not just the sticker price, but the difference between New York and national averages.

“Oil prices remain over $90 per barrel this morning,” AAA says. “Tension between Russia and Ukraine continues to be a factor in rising oil prices. Russia is a member of OPEC+, and any sanctions based on their actions toward Ukraine may cause it to withhold crude oil from the global market.”
