Over $350,000 Grant Given For County’s 911 Centers

County Executive Ed Day was joined by Rockland County Office of Fire & Emergency Services Director Chris Kear this week to sign a resolution approving funding in the amount of $351,925 from the New York State Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services (NYS DHSES).

The grant will be used to reimburse the County for payments made to Verizon Communications for the dedicated 9-1-1 Centralized Automatic Message Accounting (CAMA) trunk lines utilized by the County’s nine PSAP 9-1-1 centers, and to reimburse the Sheriff’s Communications Unit for dispatching expenses related to the grant.
