Police Identify Spring Valley Library Stabber

The Spring Valley Police Departmet has named Gaudin Blanchard, 25, and the alleged stabber at the Finkelstein’s Memorial library in Spring Valley.

According to the police, 52 year old Sandra Wilson was working as a Security Guard at the library. While on the third floor, she asked Gaudin to lower the music he was playing on his earphones.

According to accounts of the incident, Gaudin then pulled out a large kitchen knife with a six in blade, stabbing Sandra multiple times.

Gaudin was stopped from leaving by heroic bystanders, and was arrested by the police soon after.

Blanchard was arrested and charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree and arraigned in Spring Valley Justice Court before the Honorable Judge Desir Tuesday yesterday. He was remanded to the Rockland County Jail.

Sandra Wilson was rushed to Suffern Hospital, before being transferred to Good Samaritan where she succumbed to her wounds.
