Police Pursuit Beginning in Haverstraw Ends with Arrest Over Suspended License

A Haverstraw man is in police custody after a pursuit on the Palisades Parkway stemming from a suspended license.
On March 16, 2021 at approximately 7:30pm, a trooper from the Haverstraw State Police barracks observed a 2006 Toyota Corolla on State Route 202 in the town of Haverstraw in violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
When the trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver decided to flee instead, driving at high speed onto the Palisades Interstate Parkway southbound and began driving in and out of traffic in a reckless and unsafe manner while reaching a top speed of 85 mph.
The fleeing vehicle was eventually stopped by troopers at Exit 10, and the operator of the vehicle was identified as Jeremy Singh, age 24 from the Town of Haverstraw.
Singh was driving with a suspended license, and was charged with the misdemeanors: ofAggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree, Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle and Reckless Driving as well as 12 tickets.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Haverstraw Court on April 19, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
