Pomona Awoke to Their Shul in Ruins, Help Rebuild Chassidim 110

Overnight, the structure was engulfed in flames, leaving behind not only the backbone of the community but an abundance of cherished memories as it burned to the ground.

The community is devastated and shaken, and they anxiously await more information about the depth of the destruction. Are the Sifrei Torah intact? Will the damage be partially insured? Did any of the furniture, tefillin, or thousands of seforim survive the flames?

For now, all we see is smoke.

But soon, Chassidim 110 will have to discuss the next steps for their beloved shul. Purchased just a few years ago, the center of Yiddishkeit in Pomona has served as a source of inspiration and connection for hundreds of men, women, and children in the community.

We all know that a shul isn’t just a structure, but the gateway to physical and spiritual brachos for the entire community. The Rebbe frequently stressed the importance of prioritizing the maintenance and ongoing care of a shul.

As the Hayom Yom of this morning reads, “ניט הייזער און געלד איז דער אידישער רייכטום” . All of the money in the world won’t bring our shul. It’s the support and unity of the community that will set a precedent for our children.
