Prosecutors Won’t Seek The Death Penalty in Poway Chabad Shooting

by Monsey.info

Prosecutors in charge of the case of the Poway Chabad shooting will not seek the death penalty for the shooter, reported the Associated Press.

John T. Earnest, a 22-year-old former nursing student, had entered the Chabad House on the last day of Pesach two years ago, opening fire and murdering one person.

The decision not to go for the death penalty appears to come less than two months after U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland halted federal executions while the Justice Department conducts a review of its policies and procedures.
