A Ramapo Police Dispatcher is being hailed a savior after assisting in a birth while on a 911 call.

Ramapo Police Dispatcher Barba had answered the 911 call on Friday, February 4th just a few minutes after midnight for a woman in active labor.

While dispatching police and EMS, the labor progressed, and while couching the husband over the phone, a baby boy was born.

“We’re happy to report that mom and baby boy were transported to a local hospital where they are reported to be in healthy condition,” Ramapo Police announced on Social Media. “Congratulations to mom and dad and of course to Disp. Barba for delivering his first baby over the phone!!”
