Ramapo Supervisor Specht Slams Anti-Semitic Incidents In Florida and Manhattan

by Monsey.info

Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht lashed out against two despicable anti-Semitic incidents that went viral this week, saying that he was “outraged and appalled”.

“Personally and as Supervisor of the Town of Ramapo, I am outraged and appalled at the antisemitic activity by Neo-Nazis in Orlando, Florida, and on Broadway in Manhattan that took place earlier this week,” Specht wrote on social media. “The Town of Ramapo stands against racism of any form. We believe that people who live, work and visit the Town of Ramapo should experience an environment free of bias and hate. No one should fear for their safety and security in this Town.”

Specht put out the message just as a neo-Nazi group has declared February 25th as a “day of hate,” sparking a flurry of fear into the Jewish community.

“I want you to know that our Ramapo Detectives assigned to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Safe Streets Task Force monitor this broad threat,” Specht assured. “The Ramapo Police Department is working closely with their law enforcement partners to mitigate any risks.”

I have asking that all Ramapo residents pay attention to their surroundings and the Chief of the Rampo Police Department has been asked to increase staffing on February 25th.

“We strongly encourage the public to help the police by calling 911 to report suspicious activity,
Specht said. “Together we can fight hate.”
