Ramapo Town Supervisor Releases Statement Mourning The Shocking Death of Miriam Sussman OBM

The tragic death of 52-year-old Rockland County resident Miriam Sussman OBM as she was walking along Carlton Rd has drawn widespread response in Rockland County, with a statement being released from Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht.

“I join together with our entire community in mourning the tragic death of Mrs. Miriam Sussman on Sunday evening,” Specht wrote in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sussman family during this trying time, and our hearts and minds are with the entire Ramapo community that is grieving this terrible loss.”

Sussman had been reported missing Sunday evening, and after a lengthy search, she was discovered by a Chaverim volunteer having been struck and killed by a driver on Carlton Rd. The incident was immediately put under investigation by the Ramapo Police Department.

“The safety of all our residents is of paramount importance, and the Ramapo Police Department is thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding Mrs. Sussman’s untimely passing as she was evidently walking along Carlton Road,” Specht added. “May the Sussman family know no further sorrow and may Mrs. Miriam Sussman’s memory be a blessing.”
