Rep. Mike Lawler Wins Reelection to House in NY-17
Incumbent Rep. Mike Lawler has been reelected to New York’s 17th Congressional District, beating Mondaire Jones in a highly contentious House race.
The Republican represents northern Westchester County, Rockland and Putnam counties, and a small portion of southern Dutchess County. It’s one of the seven swing districts in New York that could impact the balance of power in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Lawler was first elected to the district in 2022. Jones represented NY-17 from 2021-2022 but after a contentious redistricting process, briefly moved to New York City to run for NY-10 and lost the Democratic primary.
