Reports Indicate That Iran Plans Retaliatory Strike On Israel, May Take Place Before The US Election

The New York Times, citing three Iranian officials familiar with the war planning, reported on Thursday that Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has instructed the Supreme National Security Council on Monday to prepare for an attack on Israel.

The officials said that Khamenei decided to attack after he reviewed a detailed report from senior military commanders on the extent of damage to Iran’s missile production capabilities and air defense systems around Tehran, critical energy infrastructure, and a main port in the south.

Axios, citing two Israeli sources, reported that Israeli intelligence is estimating that Iran will strike Israel from Iraqi territory, possibly before Tuesday’s US Election.
