Ribbon Cutting Inaugurates New Rockland Hatzoloh Ambulance In Pomona Heights
by Monsey.info
Day in and day out, the volunteers of Chevra Hatzoloh rely upon two precepts of Jewish volunteerism printed onto their ambulances, BiSiata Dishmaya and Viahavta Lreiacha Kamocha.
These two important concepts were front and center as the volunteers of Rockland Hatzoloh inaugurated their newest state of the art ambulance for the Pomona Heights Jewish community on Sunday.
Having grown tremendously over the last few years, the community was in need of a new ambulance to provide speedy emergency response in the hard to reach area of Rockland County.
Leading the event was Rockland Hatzoloh Paramedic Mordechai Eckhaus, who MC’d the inauguration and spoke of the dedication and care that each and every volunteer gives to his community.
Rabbi’s and elected officials also joined the event, including Representative Mike Lawler who thanked the volunteers for their work throughout the county and pointed out the uniqueness of Hatzoloh as they buck the trend and continue to grow as a volunteer organization.
Town of Haverstraw Supervisor Howard Phillips also joined the event, pointing out the importance of well equipped volunteers and how time is of the essence in medical emergencies.
Divrei Torah at the event was given by Rabbi Avraham Wachsman.
Rabbi Naftali Silberberg, President of Hatzoloh of Rockland County, was also present at the event and addressed the community.
The inauguration of the new ambulance, generously donated by the Galandaur Family, has been given the designation of H-18, and will be located in Pomona Heights outside the Shul at 60 Halley Dr.
