Rockland Chaverim Rescue Injured Hiker Sunday Near Pomona

Chaverim’s Search and Rescue Unit was called up Sunday after an elderly woman who was injured while on a hike at Panther Mountain in Pomona.

Pictures from the rescue operation show as the crew carried the woman on a stretcher over rough terrain and passed her into the hands of Rockland Hatzoloh for treatment.

In a social media post, Chaverim thanked the Ramapo Police Department for their assistance.

This past Tuesday, Chaverim responded to another call for help after a hiker and her dog were stuck on an Icy cliff. In that case, Chaverim was successful in rescuing both.

In 2021, Rockland Chaverim responded to nearly 35,000 calls for help throughout the Rockland community.
